Cyberbullying May Be Worse Than Offline Bullying

Questionnaires completed by nearly 10,000 10- to 13-year-old children revealed that those subjected to bullying online were more likely to have suicidal thoughts than their peers who are victims of offline bullying. Senior study author Dr. Ran Barzilay writes, “At a time when young adolescents are spending more time online than ever before, this study underscores the negative impact that bullying in the virtual space can have on its targets.” JAMA Network Open, June 2022
