Omega-6 Fatty Acids May Help Prevent Type 2 Diabetes.

An analysis of data from twenty published studies involving 39,740 adults found that individuals who had the highest blood levels of an omega-6 fatty acid called linoleic acid—a fatty-acid is found in bean and seed oils such as soybean and sunflower oils—were 35% less likely to develop type 2 diabetes than those with the lowest linoleic acid levels. Lead author Dr. Jason Wu notes, “Our findings suggest that a simple change in diet might protect people from developing type 2 diabetes which has reached alarming levels around the world.”
